I am no stranger to what I call Instagram playgrounds: innovative, immersive experiences that encourage visitors to capture memories. I’ve been to the Museum of Ice Cream in San Francisco, Miami and Los Angeles, Happy Place in Chicago, and Rosé Mansion in New York. I’m an absolute sucker for these experiences, so it’s no surprise that I went to Wall Crawl shortly after it opened.
What is Wall Crawl?
Wall Crawl is a new photo studio experience in Downtown Orlando. There are 20+ walls and backdrops that are supposed to change seasonally. What sets this photo studio apart is that they offer ‘Instagram husbands‘ to take your photos, both with your camera/phone and their camera. Wall Crawl offers prints for sale at the end of your experience.
How do I get in?
Tickets can be purchased in advance on the Wall Crawl website; they are $25 for adults and $12.50 for kids, and there are group deals available. The experience is about an hour long and groups are staggered by different entry times. The photo prints start at $5 each; my friends and I decided to each purchase a film strip and ended up paying about $15 total for three film strips and digital files of each image in the film strip. We enjoyed our time so much at Wall Crawl that we wanted to keep a piece of it, which is why we ended up purchasing prints.
Is Wall Crawl worth the cost?
Honestly, the experience is what you make of it. I went to Wall Crawl with two of my girlfriends and we had the time of our lives. It’s not so much an interactive experience as it is a photo studio/Instagram pop-up, so it’s not for everyone, but it’s definitely a really fun way to take pictures. The owners, Joshua and Jeanette, were very helpful and made our experience even better.
I was also in awe of the local talent that came together to make the walls and backdrops happen. The artists currently highlighted are all female, which is so empowering. I think my favorite wall is the Orlando-themed one, modeled after a beautiful Bloomwolf Studio print (pictured above). If you’re the type of person who loves creating memories with your loved ones, I definitely recommend Wall Crawl!
