Audrey Leighton Vintage has done it again: this time with the autumn/winter-friendly version of their iconic wrap dress. Audrey recently designed a sweater wrap dress with the same style and fit as the sleeveless and long-sleeved wrap dresses, both of which I consider myself very lucky to own. The last collection’s theme was bread, so all of the marketing and even the packaging revolved around bread. I was too excited to try everything on to take high-quality pictures of the packaging or the rest of my order (a gorgeous vintage heart chain necklace and a houndstooth bucket hat), but you can check out the brand’s lovely aesthetic on Instagram. There’s also a new collection dropping on Sunday, the 28th, with a very clever theme: nowhere to go.
The Sweater Wrap Dress
Okay, so maybe I should’ve taken a screenshot of the product description before going back to sleep after placing my order because it won’t be available until the next collection drops…oops. lol. I’d describe the sweater wrap dress as a thick yet cosy ribbed knit dress in the most beautiful shade of dark chocolate brown. During the last drop, the dress also came in black, camel, and smooth camel. I’m not sure whether it’ll be returning for the upcoming drop, but Audrey did post a picture for the collection wearing what looks like the camel dress, so maybe! The dress retails for 165 euros (plus 30 euro shipping to the United States), and I believe it’s worth the cost per wear as the dress was designed to be timeless. I love the idea of having a high-quality piece made in small quantities that will last me a lifetime and can’t wait to see how I style it later on in life.
Fit and Styling
The dress comes in S-M and M-L, and the wrap is what allows me to squeeze into the M-L. It is a little snug on my hips but isn’t uncomfortable to wear or after eating, and I got a few compliments as I went to pick up some coffee with my Mom. This time around I styled the dress with snakeskin print knee-high boots (affiliate link) I found in wide-calf sizes at Target and decided to keep the look simple with my vintage Chanel. I added one of my favorite pairs of ALV earrings from a 2019 collection to pull it all together. In the future, I’d love to style the sweater wrap dress with a pair of nude slingbacks, a chain necklace, and a nude bag (hopefully another vintage Chanel ;)). I will also definitely be wearing it with a beret to sit at a café in Paris while people-watching.
