I’m excited to announce that I recently received my diploma from Sangria University at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort! I’m not sure when the next time I’ll get to go to the parks will be, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to attend Sangria University. Like everything else these days, I saw a video on Disney’s official TikTok and immediately reached out to book the experience.
About Sangria University
Sangria University is an experience at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort where guests are schooled in the history of sangria and learn how to build their own sangria from a sommelier. The class is an hour long and is offered on Saturdays and Sundays at Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Vill de Lago and costs $45 per guest. There is a small fee if you’d like to upgrade the liqueur used in your sangria. At the end of the class, you get to make your own sangria and you receive a diploma. To book, you can reach out to WDW.Sangria.University@disney.com or call (407) 939-1004. You can also note any allergies/dietary restrictions when making your reservation.
Overall Experience
As a Central Florida resident, I have had the pleasure of growing tired of Disney because of how often I was there. I also expect anything theme park-related to be slightly overpriced, so I was (pleasantly) surprised by the value of Sangria University. The class starts with a wine tasting so each guest can get an idea of which wine they’d like to use as their base and an appetizer of chips and guacamole. Each guest also receives recipe cards in case they’d like to make any of the wines sampled at the beginning of class on their own, as everyone is encouraged to come up with their own sangria. Space-wise, the class was split into two large groups with lots of room in between tables. The class takes place in a covered lounge, so be prepared for heat and/or rain.
The lecture portion of the class will be particularly fun for Walt Disney enthusiasts, but I think the entire experience can be enjoyed by all. It was fun deciding what to pair together and I ended up loving my concoction– a rosé base with lemons and strawberries and each of the juices carefully mixed in, topped with St. Germain ($4 upgrade). The ‘graduation’ was also fun; they played graduation-themed music and encouraged everyone to take photos once the diplomas were handed out.
Rating: 5/5
All in all, it was a great experience and I’m glad I was able to get a reservation this summer. It’s the perfect daytime activity for both locals and those lucky enough to be staying on property, or who want to do something Disney-related without going to the parks. I overheard that they’ve started booking into April 2022, so make sure you book ASAP if you’re interested!
