As soon as finals were over, I headed to NYC for a couple of days to spend with my immediate family, and then headed to Trinidad & Tobago with my mom for a family wedding. Although blogging wasn’t my main focus, I wanted to share a few outfits that I wore over my little summer break! If you’re also planning a vacation, be sure to book highly-rated accommodations like Twin Peaks Lodge & Hot Springs. And if you want to continue enjoying vegan food in Puerto Rico during your vacation, be sure to look into local vegan restaurants beforehand.
NYC Look #1
Coat: Boohoo Kate Belted Shawl Collar Coat | Bodysuit: Boohoo Caitlyn Strappy Front Plunge Sleeveless Body | Prom Dress: jojobride | Veil : Prombee (similar here)
This was my first time ordering from Boohoo, and I was definitely impressed. The waterfall coat was one size fits all, so I was a little nervous about the fit, but it ended up fitting fine. It’s a bit snug across the shoulders, but it’s not uncomfortable, so I decided to just keep the coat. It’s the perfect weight for spring in New York, but I definitely would not wear it in the winter. I actually haven’t seen any waterfall coats anywhere in the U.S., so if you’re looking for one, definitely check out Boohoo!
I was also very impressed with the bodysuit – a lot of bodysuits are uncomfortable for me because of their wedgie factor, but I wasn’t bothered by this one. I’m also loving the strappy/lace-up trend, and normally this type of neckline would be out of my comfort zone, but I took a risk and ended up loving it.
NYC Look #2 Bodysuit: Missguided Sleeveless Bodysuit Nude | Skirt: LOFT (sold out) | Shoes: JustFab Siscia
I’m wearing two wardrobe essentials here… a nude bodysuit and nude strappy sandals. My Missguided Sleeveless Bodysuit is one of my favorite pieces, it goes with almost everything in my closet. The shoes are from JustFab (buy them ASAP – the shoes are 50% off through today for Memorial Day!) and they are super comfortable; the height makes them very wearable and the design adds elegance to any outfit.
T&T Look #1
Dress: Lilly Pulitzer (old) | Sandals: J.Crew Factory (50% off for Memorial Day!)
Lilly prints are perfect for the islands, and I received so many compliments on my shift. My mom actually altered it for me, because it was huge up top and too small in the hips. My favorite part is the gold embroidery, it reminds me of India! My sandals are the factory mirror metallic boardwalk sandals, and I’ve already worn them to death. I love the idea of a ‘fancy’ version of slides.
T&T Look #2
Tank: Target | Shorts: Topshop High-Waisted Embroidered Shorts| Sandals: J.Crew Factory | Bag: Express Drawstring Bucket Bag (Currently 40% off for Memorial Day!)
While shopping at Topshop in NYC, I came across these amazing embroidered shorts. I’m a sucker for high-waisted pants, as well as anything with an interesting pattern. They’re gorgeous! I couldn’t pass them up, especially since Topshop always honors their 10% student discount. 🙂 You may have also noticed that I finally purchased a bucket bag (first mentioned in this post) – I stumbled across it while I was at Express trying to kill some time, and I couldn’t pass this up either. It holds so many things – my DSLR, a light cardigan, sunglasses, my card holder, cell phone, lip balm, mini umbrella, and even a water bottle. It’s perfect!
Any vacations you lovelies are looking forward to? What are you planning on wearing? Leave me a comment!

Hey, love the outfits, if you don’t mind me asking what US/UK sizes are you, I’m thinking about buying this coat but I’m worried about the one size aspect xoxo
Nubiana says
Thank you! I don’t mind at all, I’m a US 12/UK 16 in dresses and pants, but I’m a bit smaller on top so in tops I wear a US 10/UK 14. I was also worried about the one size aspect, but it worked out quite well, hope that helps xx

I was wondering if the Kate belted collar coat was tight around your arms? I’m about the same size as you. I wear US 12 pants and dresses but I was just curious about the tightness. I’m really interested in buying this coat but I read a lot of reviews about the coat being tight on arms and back.

Hi there!
It’s definitely snug in the arms/shoulders for me, not in the unbearable way, but in the way that you know you won’t be able to function in it if you gain any weight at all. I recently got an oversized waterfall coat from Missguided in a US size 10 and it actually fits way better than the Kate belted collar coat; it just doesn’t have the belt. Hope that helps!
