Currently Loving: The Lorna Luxe ‘Aria’ Dress

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to rave about Lorna Luxe’s ongoing collaboration with In The Style. While I have made an effort to cut down on my fast fashion spending, I have been ordering from Lorna’s collections from time to time. I really appreciate the silhouettes and fabrics Lorna has put together in each of her collections, and it’s been great watching her brand grow; Lorna takes the feedback she receives from her following and uses it to make the subsequent acts even better.

I remember being disappointed in the initial collection because Lorna put together some stunning pieces, but the sizes only went up to a US 12 or so. I desperately tried to fit into a wrap crop top, and it was one of the worst things I’ve ever purposely done to myself. I’m so glad that Lorna’s latest drop is available in US sizes 2 to 24. I also love that all of the pieces are classic items that I’d want to have in my wardrobe for the next decade of my life.

One piece from the collection that was love at first sight for me is the ‘Aria’ Exaggerated Puff Sleeve Babydoll Dress (affiliate link). It comes in white and blue, and definitely gives me Disney Princess (or Alice in Wonderland) vibes. The exaggerated puff sleeve isn’t too over the top and makes the dress stand out from other dresses in my wardrobe. I sized up by one size for length since I’m about 5’10” and had the top part of the dress taken in to fit my torso. The dress is very forgiving, which would make it the base of a great brunch outfit.

I was worried about wearing the dress in the Florida heat and humidity because I sweat a lot. I wore the dress to Bok Tower Gardens (where I went in accordance with CDC guidelines) and was so relieved that although I could see the sweat dripping off my forehead, there were no sweat stains on the 100% polyester fabric, which was a pleasant surprise. Lorna Luxe’s latest act with In The Style included the most pieces she’s ever released; I was able to get a 100% cotton co-ord set that looks like linen and is perfect for this heat, but I have a few other pieces I’m patiently waiting to be restocked.
