First and foremost, Happy Memorial Day everyone! Thank you to all of the amazing men and women who have served (and currently serve) our country, allowing us to have the freedom to enjoy what we choose to. This is the first MDW in a couple years that I haven’t had any responsibilities, so I decided to take full advantage of it. I didn’t want to do the typical beach trip, so I made it my mission to partake in activities I haven’t done before.
My first adventure was going to the nearest drive-in movie theatre to see the new Alice in Wonderland movie, Through The Looking Glass. It was only about a 45 minute drive from my house, and admission was only $5 per adult. My best friend and I brought a cooler with water and fruit, and stocked up on popcorn. We also made a pit stop at a local coffee shop in Lakeland to get a cold brew and a beignet!

The food spot we stopped at is just off Main St. in Lakeland at 108 Main. It is definitely one of my new favorite hangout spots – the cold brew is Vietnamese style with condensed milk, and the beignets are amazing. The decor is even better! It’s only a short drive from Silver Moon Drive-In. Since this was my first time going to a drive-in movie, I was expecting my experience to be okay, but not great. I was pleasantly surprised! The sound was amazing in my car, and the weather was nice and cool. There weren’t any interruptions, and I absolutely loved the fact that I could kick my boots off and curl up in my snuggie with my favorite popcorn. This is definitely an adventure I’ll be repeating in the future!
